Hamilton at Kansas City Music Hall

Debuting in 2015 and running for almost a decade, Hamilton took Broadway by storm bringing a fresh approach. Based on Ron Chernow’s biographical book about Alexander Hamilton, it tells the life story of Alexander Hamilton’s humble beginnings and journey to one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. A unique story that is both historical and political, Hamilton has been hailed as fearless in its storytelling and has left its mark on politics, culture, and education.

Written by American composer and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film. He went on to write the music and lyrics for previous Broadway play In the Heights, another Tony award-winning spectacle, and is also responsible for the music and lyrics in several notable musical films such as Moana. The hit musical, featuring a mixed cast, has showtunes in a style that mixes new genres like hip hop, jazz, R&B, which has made Hamilton all the more revolutionary and exciting by showcasing these music genres to the Broadway stage. Songs such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as Broadways best memorable songs from the musical since its Broadway release. Lin-Manuel Miranda has attributed his music inspiration for Hamilton to become top rap and hip-hop rappers of USA, finding a way to marry the two different genres together, something that was unheard of. The showtunes of Hamilton is praised hugely by Missouri critics alike, compared to other Broadway musicals that have been staged, Hamilton continues to be more fast-paced and engaging than many.

Hamilton has since gone on to achieve a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and an extra 16 Tony nominations, Olivier Awards, Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special mention from the Kennedy Center Honors. So far, Hamilton has achieved widespread success as it continues its limited runs all over the world, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is now available this winter in Music Hall Kansas City, the top theater for the arts in Kansas City, where former shows have been received incredibly well. Tickets for the Thursday 26th February 2026 showing are numerous as Hamilton will only be running for a limited time in Music Hall Kansas City during February.
